A Litter At A Time Rescue is made up of volunteers that have one goal, one purpose: that is to fix what is broken. In our case it is broken hearts of the wounded animals, the dogs, cats, kittens & puppies, that have been cast aside into shelters. These animals were abandoned without a chance to have a family to love them. We take in these babies, we love them, hug them and kiss them. All of our furry friends are in foster homes where they get the attention they deserve. Learning to become what they were born to be.... Pets, a part of a family. They will not face death, they will not spend their days behind bars, they will be adopted, we will see to it!
You can also find updates to our group at any time by visiting here.
Adopting a friend.......
All adoptions must be approved. An application must be completed, a vet reference will be checked and a home visit will be required. This is to make sure that the new home and the animal is a good match. An adoption contract must be signed. This assures that if the adoption does not work out for any reason the animal will be returned to A Litter At A Time Rescue. There will be an adoption fee for all animals. This fee includes the spaying or neutering of the animal before it is adopted. We do provide out-of-state adoptions.
A Litter At A Time Rescue animals are cared for by: Animal House Veterinary Clinic 6365 Highway 280 Harpersville, Al 35078

A special story...........
Meet Chester then....... I have to tell you Chester's story: Chester was dropped off at the shelter with sarcoptic mange. A volunteer at the shelter saw him in the overnight drop box and immediately pulled him out and took him directly to the vet. He was lucky and never had to go into the shelter! We picked Chester up at the vet and he has been with us ever since. Chester was adopted by a wonderful family in New York. We have been trying to get Chester to them since May. It seems as though that ever time Chester is scheduled to make it on a transport, that transport is cancelled. His family has patiently waited on their baby to come home. Finally, Chester's day was here, Thursday July 5th Chester was going home! But, rambunctious Chester blew out the joint right below his hock and now he is in a splint for the next 4 to 6 weeks. If his leg does not heal properly he will need to have an $1800 surgery to correct the injury. The most astonishing part is: his family is still patiently waiting on Chester... they have not given up on the little guy! If Chester has to have surgery we will need your help! Whatever you can give to help this poor little guy with his surgery, get well and to go home to his family will be deeply appreciated! Not only by us but by Chester and his family. Please won't you help?
We are in desperate need of volunteers to open their hearts and their homes and foster! If you love puppies and kittens and you are willing to foster PLEASE e-mail us!
